A busy time in Base 3!

We have been so busy in Base 3! We have been busy making Christmas bauble decorations to sell at the Christmas Fair later this week , which has been exciting.

We have also had a very informative start to the week today as we have had a special visitor from the Dogs Trust charity. She has helped us to understand how to be safe around dogs, how to understand their needs and also how to be their 'best friend'. The children engaged so well with their workshop in class and have all come home with a promise card, showing how they will try to keep themselves and dogs around them safe, using what they have learned. 

Year 2s have been busy learning about all kinds of materials and we are starting to look at their properties too. 

Year 3s have been particularly working hard in Maths to perfect their strategies and skill when using column subtraction. This has been a new written method for the children to use and they have done very well to practise and learn how this method works. Please practise your column methods at home wherever possible 😊

Well done! Here's to more busy activities in class over the next week. Year 2 are looking forward to their Hope Journey trip on Wednesday and we will see you all at the Christmas Fair on Friday evening.
