Diamond Cricket

On the 23rd September Charlie, Chloe, Ben Ho, Ollie, Ethan, Joe C, Aoife, Joe G, Xander, Justina, Issy and Poppy all tried their very best in the Diamond Cricket competition at South Cheshire College. Xander was the team captain.

They all played 2 matches and won both (68-51 and 75-64). They all played very well but didn't have time to play all the schools there.

"Just a quick note to say what a pleasure it was seeing the Wrenbury Diamond Cricket players last night at South Cheshire College. They were a great credit to the school and really performed very well as a team. Andrea was fantastic and the kids were excellent in their knowledge and application. 2 wins out of 2 games is an excellent achievement.
Well done to all.
Thanks"
Nick (Company Director and previous Sportscape PE coach in the school from 2013-14)

Quad Kids

On Thursday 1st October, children from Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 attended the Quad Kids athletics event at Malbank playing fields. it was a lovely sunny day and we all took part in four fun activities.

The first event was the long distance run. The Y3/4 girls ran 400m first followed by the boys. Then the Y5/6 went next, running 600 metres. Everybody did very well at this, although it was very tiring — it was long way!

The next event was the standing long jump — something we had never done before. It was quite tricky getting the techniques right, but we did enjoy it.

After a quick water break we moved onto the javelin (a kind of foam rocket) — this was something we had done before in PE so we had an idea of what to do. A few of our team managed to throw it quite a long way.

Finally was the 75m sprint. We were put into groups of three and we had to run as fast as we could to get the best time. We all tried really hard and did a fantastic job.

Overall we had a really great afternoon, although very exhausting. Well done to all the children who took part.
Well done — Will K, Molly P, Jemma, Molly L, Ollie, Chloe, Justina, Ben, Joe C, Harry, Poppy, Charlotte, Esme, Ethan, Issy, Benjamin, Charlie and Piers.

RESULTS:
The Y3/4 team were placed 6th overall in the small schools competition (six schools in category)
The Y5/6 team were placed 2nd overall in the small schools competition (6 schools in category) and 6th in overall competition with 14 schools taking part. Well done Y5/6!

From Mrs Cador, a very proud headteacher:
We received a phone call from a neighbouring school who said that their teachers had commented on the lovely manners and super behaviour of our Y5/6 team, who were waiting with them to start the long distance run! What an accolade!

Overall the whole team represented the school in a very positive way! Well done to you all!

Yesterday, Reception spent the afternoon talking about how we can be kind. We had two new friends to help our learning called Terry Turtle and Winnie Wolf. We first explored different emotions and how our facial expressions may change depending on how we feel. After this, the children listened to a story about Terry and Winnie and an argument they had about sharing a crown. We spoke about how...
