What a wonderful Saturday afternoon we had at Marbury Merry Days! The sun shone. There were lots of happy, hot faces.
At 2.30pm, everyone stopped and looked up to the sky to witness an awe-inspiring, fly-over by a Lancaster Bomber (see photo).
At 3pm, on the church terrace, Wrenbury School performed some fantastic maypole dancing. cheered on by younger and older siblings, parents, grandparents, extended family members, school community friends and visitors to the event. It was heartwarming and a real celebration of the villages of Marbury and Wrenbury and their respective communities coming together.
A huge thank you to Mrs Charlesworth for giving up her lunchtimes to help the children practice and to our fabulous children who performed brilliantly and represented school so well. Mums and dads and a grandparent joined in, too, which was lovely and brought lots of cheers and laughter!
We look forward to singing at Fun In A Field soon — another great community event! Do come along!
