Continuing to explore our Space theme, the children drew around themselves creating an astronaut and set about decorating it. We have turned our handprints into aliens and wrote our names in glitter. The children finished off their mobile of the planets (we may have discovered a few more than in real life!) and hung this in the classroom. It looks super!
Last week we made astronaut packed lunches, this week we were extremely excited and eager to try real... yes real astronaut food! It was surprisingly very tasty! The cinnamon apple wedges tasted just like delicious apple crumble. The children noticed that it came from America. We learnt what freeze dried means then compared freeze dried apples and grapes to the grapes and apples in our packed lunches. We watched a short clip of what water looks likes in Space too.
We are loving our squiggle while you wiggle and are creating some masterpieces afterwards with crayons, paints and water. The children used these to make stars to link to our story 'Stardust', we talked about and captured what we would like to be when we grow up. A busy, creative and fun few days!
