Half term reading challenge
Mr. Lindop: February 2020
This afternoon, we were visited by Mrs. Dickinson who shared lots of new exciting books with us during our assembly. Base 5 were really pleased to borrow some new fiction books for over the half term.
Mrs. Dickinson also told us about this year's reading challenge. Over the next 11 days, we will all (yes, the teachers too) be trying to spend a lot more time reading and logging all the time we spend reading. Letters have gone home with more details of our reading challenge, but it's a great way to get reading, sharing and enjoying books.
Children will also get a voucher to spend in the Usborne shop based on how many minutes they read for to buy their own books with as well as raising money for the school to buy some new ones for our class libraries.

The children loved the thought of this and we then learnt about the water cycle — the best recycling system! This...

During a battle between the Romans and the Celts, what would they do if they wanted to see over a wall/barrier, to see if the enemy were advancing towards them. We discovered...
