Our 'Grand Opening of the Outdoor Classroom' took place on Friday, after school. A huge thank you to the Friends of Wrenbury School committee and helpers for making it a wonderful event to end the week.

The event began with the 'Grand Opening'; the cutting of the ribbon and the receipt of a cheque for £557 from one of our Outdoor Classroom sponsors 'Bakkavor Bread' (formerly Primebake), in front of the whole school.

Then it was time for children (and their parents) to explore and enjoy a plethera of activities in our outdoor setting:

  • the bare foot trail (hugely successful)
  • pond-dipping
  • planting seeds in the garden area
  • making bird feeders
  • clay animal making
  • following the activity trail, including scramble net and tunnel
  • story telling in the woodland
  • adventure play in the forest club area
  • meeting Laura and Charlie's hens

and, when all that was over, it was time for some well-deserved refreshments.

A very big thank you for the time, energy, enthusiasm and support of all involved in preparing for the event and to those who took part. It was a celebration of the vision we have for our children at Wrenbury ~ providing quality rural outdoor education in our fabulous setting with the support of our local community.
