Base 5 News

Another week week has flown by and somehow we have reached half term already!
In our maths lessons, the children have been busy learning about angles; recalling key facts, measuring and working out missing angles. We have really enjoyed the reasoning and problem solving element on this and are looking forward to developing our skills with this even further.
In English we have started looking at a new text and the children were gripped immediately! We have really broken down the text, looking deeply at the ideas and messages hidden so carefully in behind the words in the text. We will continue to explore this text after half term- I have a feeling that we are going to really enjoy it!
In history we revisited prior learning, recalling some key, powerful knowledge. We then considered which concepts this information taught us about. The children discussed; politics, religion, revolution and tyranny as just a few. As always, Base 5, I find your historical knowledge and understanding to be incredible.
We also developed our artwork using our computing skills, we are becoming more and more confident when using Inkscape and have made some excellent, individual pieces.
As well as this, we created some 'beautiful work' in our learning journey books, creating pages for; geography, English and RE. We also enjoyed our PE lesson, swimming and cricket — despite the rather soggy weather.
Base 5, this has been a great half term, enjoy the break and I look forward to seeing you all in a week.
