Another brilliant week had in Base 4 by everyone. We have once again worked extremely hard in all of our work. We have produced some excellent pieces of writing in English around our story book 'The Storm Whale in Winter'. The highlight of these being an amazing character description using lots of learnt features including: expanded noun phrases, prepositions and similes! We are so proud of these we have even written these up in neat to display in our classroom.
In maths we have learnt so much about fractions that our brains are full of different fraction knowledge! We can do lots of different things with fractions including find fractions of whole numbers and the Year 5s have been learning how to multiply whole numbers by fractions. Mrs Winward and I are proud of how hard everyone has worked this week in maths. Well done.
We have also finished off our Science topic this week by looking at friction and the similarities between what we found out between friction and air resistance. Then we created another investigation to investigate how friction would slow down or speed up a car on a ramp by changing the steepness of the ramp. We then looked into changing the surface of the ramp to see how this affected the friction of the ramp.
A big well done to Base 4 this week who have worked extremely hard and behaved exemplary all week. Well done everyone.
We would all like to say a big thank you to Mr and Mrs Jones who come in every week to help us with our reading and we had great fun this week learning about different Art techniques with Mr Jones. We learnt lots!
REMINDER:
Swimming this Wednesday! Boys need to have trunks not shorts and girls need to wear a one piece swim suit and a hat if hair is not tied back.
Mr Sargeant and Mrs Winward.
