What a fantastic week we have had in Base 4!

We have finished our topic of fractions in maths and have moved onto decimals. That panicked look we had when we started fractions made a swift return at the first sight of decimals but after realising they weren't as bad as first feared and after some hard work we have begun to master the basics very quickly!

In English we have produced some brilliant setting descriptions around our book 'The Storm Whale in Winter' and have been unleashing our inner actor/ actress with drama to help develop our writing. Mrs Cador even popped in for a visit and was impressed with our writing so well done everyone!

Swimming on Wednesday afternoon went really well with everyone willing to have a go and even learning new things. It was great to see and we hope to see the same again next week! Don't forget your swimming kits!

We are coming to the end of our Science topic for this half term and everyone has enjoyed learning about the Solar System and different forces. We have all learnt lots of new things and have enjoyed exploring far off places together as a class. We have done two different investigations and the children have come up with different ways to approach each one.

All in all Base 4 yet another busy week. Keep working hard — It's almost half term!

Another busy week has flown by in Base 3. This week, we were amazed by water! We began learning about the water cycle by drinking water that was billions of years old! The water we were drinking may have been sucked up by the trunk of a woolly mammoth or even supped Tutankhamun! The children loved the thought of this and we then learnt about the water cycle — the best recycling system! This...
