Mr Lindop: November 2019
What an incredible week of exploring we have done in Base 4.
In English, we used drama to join the crew of the Endurance before it departed on its expedition to Antarctica. We met Ernest Shackleton who made us sing "God Save the King" before getting everything ready on board the ship. We then used our debating and problem solving skills to figure out whether we should go on our expedition or stay and fight in the war which had just broken out. Some fantastic reasons and drama skills on show — well done all!
In Maths, we have been getting active in Maths of the Day, learning how to solve 2 and 3-digit number multiplied by one digit questions. Base 4 have really grappled with this over the week and are getting the hang of being able to partition, multiply and add together.
Our learning journey books are also starting to come together. We used some fantastic vocabulary to summarise and evaluate our ancient map work in art.
Everyone was fantastic in swimming on Wednesday too, with everyone braving the deep end and swimming down the length of the pool. We have some really strong and speedy swimmers in Base 4 too.
Have a great weekend.
