Well, another lovely week was had in Base 4. We have been so busy!
The week started by finding out about skylarks. In the class story the main character loves skylarks, they remind him of happy childhood times at home. We enjoyed the poem 'Lark' by Robert Macfarlane from his wonderful book 'The Lost Words'. We we fascinated by them and then used a range of reading skills to learn more about them, taking notes ready for us to write our own fact sheet about them next week. We have also continued to enjoy our reading time, with some children even taking their books to read at playtime, lovely.
In maths we have been learning about factors, multiples and multiplication. The children really enjoyed the problem solving and investigative element of this. We had to apply our knowledge of times table rules to decide what were factors of a multiple. We have also continued working on our arithmetic — and the children are now really seeing the connection between the different elements of maths, well done everyone.
We have also focused on our learning journey this week, creating our newspaper page and publishing our story — the front covers to this are all complete now and we are working on the story itself.
In our computing we looked at staying safe online which linked to anti-bullying week. The children were very good at explaining many ways that they could stay safe online and all said they had new ideas about how to do this after our lesson. They all enjoyed playing the game so here is the link as many said that they would like to play it at home: https://www.thinkuknow.co.uk/8_10/
Have a lovely weekend everyone, rest take time to enjoy the break and I'll see you on Monday.
