Base 4 news
Mr Lindop: October 2020
Another busy week in Base 3 where our children have worked incredibly hard and shown wonderful concentration, engagement and willingness to improve.
In Maths, year 3 have been practicing writing and reading 3 digit numbers in words whilst our year 4s have been getting to grips with rounding up and down to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000. We had a fantastic game of rounding baseball as part of our maths of the day, until Eva pointed out to me that a better name would have been "Rounders."
In English, we've been learning about the inside of a cabin on a narrow boat and how cramped it must have been for the boatmen and families who lived and worked on them. We've been learning prepositions and how we can use them to precisely describe the position of things within the cabin.
We also had a great class assembly from NSPCC about how important it is to speak out to stay safe. The children had such a fantastic understanding of their rights and how the can stay safe and speak to trusted adults if something is not ok with them or a friend. We really do all matter in Base 3 and our wider school community.
Great work this week Base 3. Get some rest and enjoy your weekend.

Yesterday, Reception spent the afternoon talking about how we can be kind. We had two new friends to help our learning called Terry Turtle and Winnie Wolf.
