Base 4 explorers!
Mr Lindop: October 2019
What a great week in Base 4!
We spent Wednesday morning outside in our forest school area exploring the living things that call our school grounds their home. We learnt about handling living things carefully and respectfully as well as using lots of different ways to record what we found, including taking photographs, sketching and writing descriptions. The children raised some really fascinating questions about what they found and really set about exploring their learning further — two fantastic ways to show our ACHIEVE behaviours.
In Maths, we have been ordering and comparing 4-digit numbers as well as learning about negative numbers. We even managed to order the whole class into ascending order based on the numbers we were holding, showing some excellent reasoning and team work.
In English, we've been reading the next part in our text, finding out how Arthur and Maudie got onto the Aurora. We've been learning about fronted adverbials and how to use them effectively in our writing.
Finally, a huge well done to all of Base 4 this week in your swimming lessons. Your teachers have been really impressed with the progress you have made already in such a short time. It was great to have such positive feedback and you should all be proud of how well you are doing.
Have a great weekend!
