One week into the Summer Term already!
What a fantastic warm and sunny first week back- long may it continue! It has been lovely finding out all the exciting news from all the children's Easter holidays this week.

We have dived straight into our new topic 'Ancient Egyptians' and have been enjoying the first chapter of our new class novel 'The Time Travelling Cat and the Egyptian Goddess' in Literacy. As you will have seen from the homework, the children have been intrigued by the cat that has been introduced in the story and we have been doing some character studies of the young boy, Topher, and his dad too, as they are very interesting, engaging and mysterious personalities in the story so far.

In Numeracy, again we have been working across the curriculum, as we have combined our learning about ordering and placing numbers in the hundreds and thousands to aid us with our work understanding when in history the Ancient Egyptians lived. The children have worked really hard on placing when the Old, Middle and New Kingdoms took place in the Ancient Egyptian times and they have each created a beautiful piece of work in their new bespoke topic learning journeys to show this information on timelines. So well done- a great start to Numeracy and your History knowledge of Ancient Egypt!

Just a quick reminder- our PE day and swimming day has now changed. PE is now on a Wednesday and we continue our swimming lessons on Thursdays instead of Fridays for the next 3 weeks.

The library selection of fiction and non-fiction books in our class library has been renewed and i have invested some time into creating author novel collections to suit all in Base 3. So please ask your children about the great new books on offer and do keep up the fantastic reading at home at least 4 times a week, as I'm sure your children will be bringing some fab new reading material home.

We look forward to creating exciting 3D topic learning journey covers this week so hopefully we will have some pictures to post at the end of the week to show off our achievements! Also the Journey Man returns to join us in a couple of weeks' time to help further our Nantwich Schoolzfest performance so watch this space for an update on how we're doing!
