What a busy few weeks we have had!
The children have thoroughly enjoyed reading and learning about Paddington Bear. We have learnt all about landmarks of London and even created some these in the provision in a range of ways such as, using the junk modelling, stickle bricks, blocks, large construction, drawing pictures and even creating our own maps of London!
The children learnt all about Chinese New Year and enjoyed taking part in a range of activities such as reading and retelling the story of 'The Great Race', practising writing Chinese numbers in rice, making traditional Chinese drums (Bolang Gu) and turning our home corner into a Chinese restaurant.
In Maths, we have been exploring the composition of a range of numbers within 10. The children have been brilliant at exploring the numbers and writing a range of number sentences to show how the numbers can be made.
During Phonics, we read the word 'magnet'. The children asked what this meant and were extremely curious so after our lesson we got the magnets out and explored what was magnetic in our classroom!
