Base 1 celebrate harvest!
Miss Pitchford: October 2018
What a fabulous week we have had getting ready for our harvest celebrations!
In preparation for the harvest service next Tuesday we have been working hard to learn the words and actions for the songs we will sing as a class and with the rest of the school. Also as part of our harvest preparations it was our job to find out about how bread is made, so our learning this week was all focussed around the story of The Little Red Hen. We explored the bread making process and had a lot of fun playing with seeds, corn and flour, all of which were incorporated into the different activities around our classroom. We even made our own bread rolls! The children were amazing bakers, they mixed, kneaded, proved and shaped the dough themselves and the results were delicious!
I hope you enjoy looking through these lovely photos.

The children loved the thought of this and we then learnt about the water cycle — the best recycling system! This...
