African Drumming Workshop
Mr. Lindop: July 2019
What an incredible time our children have had today trying out some African drumming as part of our whole school topic.
Our tutor, Graham from Love Music Trust, led the children from each class in learning to play traditional West African drums called djembes. We learnt the different types of sounds we could make on each part of the drum and explored lots of different drumming patterns.
It was fantastic to see the children so engaged and playing really well together as an ensemble in each class. The children absolutely loved the experience and there are some really talented drummers in our school! Pictures from Bases 1, 2 and 3 are on the right, with more in the next article.
A huge thank you to Friends of Wrenbury School for contributing to the cost of the workshops. It's fantastic to see the efforts that everyone makes in fundraising for the school coming together to provide wonderful enrichment opportunities for the children. Your support is vital and hugely appreciated!
