A busy day of art in Base 3
B Cador: February 2023
We have learned about illustration and illustrators and how stories and poems can inspire their work. We then created our own sketchbooks, exploring a range of illustrations of the main characters in The Wind in the Willows — our class read. We drew in pencil, some of us drew with biro and those brave enough drew with a continuous line! Our sketches were annotated with vocabulary to describe the characters. Then we went on to create group sculptures of the characters using newspaper and masking tape before covering them with modroc — it was a bit tricky! A busy, messy art day was enjoyed by all.
