A new, sunny day and here we go...

From Hayley, Esme and Libby's mum...
Hi, Esme and Libby are missing school so today is a school day 😊 Esme, are you wearing your school uniform? It's made me realise how much I'm missing you both and all the Wrenbury children — it'll be lovely to all be back in school again, won't it!

From Erica, Livvy's mum...
We hope everyone had a lovely Easter. We have mostly enjoyed being outside in the sunshine. We spent a day painting and drawing. Livvy has continued with her homework projects, TTRS and Khan Academy. On our daily walks we walk past a stream that used to have a water wheel — Livvy was very interested and so we have started to look into the history of them. Today we enjoyed cloud busting, bird and butterfly watching. Livvy also found a triple dandelion that was fused together! Livvy is missing all her friends very much! It;s been lovely nature watching hasn't it, Livvy. I've been trying to photograph a Holly Blue butterfly in my garden but it's too busy fluttering and rarely rests...so no luck, so far! There's some wonderful history to discover in the village — I'll look forward to hearing what you found out about the water wheel, Liv!

From Amberley, Harry's mum...
Harry put all his bikeability skills into practise this afternoon and cycled from Aston to Wrenbury and back again this afternoon with me. It was the first time he had been on the open road and did very well! Well done, Harry! What a great time to learn to ride on the road with it being so quiet — great exercise too! You'll be able to bike to school when we're back (sorry for the suggestion, Amberley!)

From Sarah, Maisie and Oliver's mum...
Hello, hope you have all had a lovely Easter? Today we started back to work and have completed some maths and caught up with writing our diaries. Maisie and I went on a lovely walk while Oliver played monster trucks with his Dad.
We found some very special double and triple dandelions! We have also made our own Playdoh today and Maisie has done lots of crafting. She has made gifts for people she misses lots. Quite a busy day!
Yes, you have been busy but lovely that you are making little gifts for your friends. Some more special dandelion finds, too. I wonder if you and Liv found them in the same place? Wow, what a great monster truck, Oliver!

Lovely to see and hear your catch ups today. Thank you for sharing. Keep safe everyone, Bessa

Base 3 have been immersing themselves into the history of our wonderful village of Wrenbury. This week we used a range of photographs to help us to map out our village. We thought carefully about where buildings should be placed and discussed when these buildings would have been there, linking this to our history learning. As well as this, in English we have started a very exciting newspaper...

This week in Base 1, we have started learning about our key figure, John Gerard. John Gerard was a herbalist and botanist born in Nantwich more than 400 years ago! He was popular for his healing remedies. To deepen the children's understanding of what a remedy is, we explored remedies that are still used today, such as jasmine and camomile tea for relaxation. The children were intrigued by...
