Last week in Base 3
Miss Phillips: July 2017
What a lovely first day of the week we have had in Base 3 putting our measuring skills to the test to create some lovely cupcakes!
Last week we worked on mass, length and volume, measuring a wide range of objects and actions. So this week we were in groups of four to make some cupcakes ensuring we weighed out each ingredient very carefully. We read the instructions and found what was missing, the equipment!! Following he instructions carefully and working together extremely well we all managed to bake some lovely looking cupcakes. We then made some icing and melted some chocolate to decorate them with, along with some sprinkles. Everyone did a fabulous job of decorating their cupcakes and should be proud of how well they worked together.
Last week we started making Native American dream catchers to be displayed on the front of our topic books. Everyone worked calmly and carefully as some bits were a bit tricky. However, everyone persevered and offered a helping hand to others that found it tricky, which was lovely to see! Some children have managed to complete their dream catchers today and they look fantastic.
Let's keep up the beautiful behaviours and enjoy the rest of the week in the sunshine!

What a great day we have had today! Our day began with weaving — learning a new skill and making our very own bracelets. After this, we visited a round house. We learnt about how it was made in the modern day and how it may have been made in the past. We also learnt about life in the round house; how food was cooked, where people slept and what people used as tools to help them to go about their...
