We continue...
From Carie, Alice's mum...
Alice has done some bits for her space project building a space station and learning about different astronauts we even tried some space ice cream. When she did the space station we were looking for it in the night sky and looked at some stars with the telescope and when the super moon was out we also looked at this and took photos. We have also put a tent in the garden and cooked over a fire. And for her geography she was learning some bits about Japan and wanted to try make mochi. So we have it a go and made coconut mochi which she really enjoyed and loved eating. She was learning some more about Thailand as well. Over the Easter weekend it was Sonkran the Thai new year and we had a water fight. You do this each year to wash way the bad luck for the new year and clean the Buddha's for the same reason. She helped her nan clean all her Buddha and put them back on their Buddha shelf. She learned more about Buddhism from her Nan as well as about Jesus for Easter. She helped say the prayer in Thai after cleaning and rearranging the shelf to bring good luck for the new year Astronaut ice cream and coconut mocha — they looks really interesting! Are they tasty, Alice? You've been having lots of fun too...cooking outdoors, making a space station... the photo of the super moon that you saw through your telescope is beautiful! Your mum has told me such a lot of interesting things about Sonkran, the Thai new year, and also some of the Buddist traditions — it would be wonderful if these could be shared with all the children in school — I'm sure lots of our school families have faith and/or cultural traditions we could all explore and learn more about. Thank you so much for sharing.

From Charlotte, Jessica and Alice's mum...
Hi All, Hope everyone has had a wonderful Easter. We have been on walks in the village and down by the canal. Jessica and Alice have also made cress egg heads, using eggshells and filling them with cress seeds, so we will enjoy watching them grow. They have also enjoyed an Easter egg hunt and Alice has worked hard on her History space project and has built a space rocket. Happy Easter. You've both had lots of Easter fun! Please do share your cress egg heads when they've grown. Your rocket is huge Alice and lovely to see you're still having some lovely walks.

From Sal, Reefe and Taylor's mum...
Hello everyone! Hope you all had a lovely Easter! The boys have been busy in the garden whilst we've had such beautiful weather (Art and Biology), lots of family games of rounders and water slides (PE), a huge Easter egg hunt (RE?), they've been doing some amazing cooking and baking (sure we can include Maths in there somewhere) and keeping in touch with their friends over the x-box (IT?). They also have been learning about nutrition (Mum's expanding waistline from all the chocolate), and the importance of sharing (Mum eating their eggs when they're not looking)...... we've got this home schooling thing, no problems at all! Just about to teach them fractions with the help of a glass of wine in the sunshine! They are missing all their friends though and would like to send a hello to Stanley from Reefe and to Reece from Taylor! Sending love, A great home taught curriculum — I think we'll all be looking at our waistlines...! Lovely hearing your news and we're still joining in with the #clapforourcarers!

Thanks to everyone for all your news. What a lot we got — which is fantastic. It's so good to know that you are well and safe and making the most of being at home. Enjoy the photos and the catch ups. Take care and thank you, Bessa

Base 3 have been immersing themselves into the history of our wonderful village of Wrenbury. This week we used a range of photographs to help us to map out our village. We thought carefully about where buildings should be placed and discussed when these buildings would have been there, linking this to our history learning. As well as this, in English we have started a very exciting newspaper...

This week in Base 1, we have started learning about our key figure, John Gerard. John Gerard was a herbalist and botanist born in Nantwich more than 400 years ago! He was popular for his healing remedies. To deepen the children's understanding of what a remedy is, we explored remedies that are still used today, such as jasmine and camomile tea for relaxation. The children were intrigued by...
