Mrs Cador is our Art Subject Lead.

Children have lessons in art skills and techniques in a range of media and learn about artists and crafts people and their work

Art is also used to enhance the presentation of the children's learning in their Learning Journey books and celebrated throughout the school broth in classrooms and shared areas.

The progression in our art curriculum can be seen in our Yearly overview (attached document).

Themed art works and paintings are shared with the children both in their art lessons and in art appreciation assemblies led by Mrs Cador, where possible linked to key events happening in school, nationally or seasonally. (Some of these can be seen in the power points attached)

As we start the new academic year 2020-21; as part of our Curriculum for Recovery and as part of our whole school theme of 'A sense of place; a sense of belonging', self portraits has been chosen as a theme to explore in art across school.
See the attached documents to see which artists have been our inspiration, what techniques and skills we have explored and our final pieces.

Take a look through our gallery of art work and practice. There are works as a result of interpretation, inspiration, imagination, exploration and self-expression. We hope you enjoy them.
