Welcome to our Home Learning page.
As school are opening up to a wider number of pupils we are refreshing our home learning with the aim of supporting your children's learning even further at home. The learning has been planned so that all children in your household can work on similar tasks, hopefully making life as easy as possible for parents.
This home learning includes English, maths, science, life skills and even a virtual field trip! A new project will be added to the website every week. Please feel free to dip in and out of this or use it fully, whatever works for you and your children. Mrs Griffin will be ringing parents to catch up; if you have any questions about the home learning please feel free to ask her. If there is anything more urgent please call / email the office.
All new home learning will be accessible by clicking here. The most recent home learning will be at the top.
Note: previous uploads are on our Home Learning link page: Recent Home Learning
The BBC have also launched new teaching materials for primary and secondary children. There are a wide range of activities which can be viewed via BBC iplayer and the BBC red button and can be accessed at any time. These can be accessed here.
Oak National Academy online classroom and resource
The Academy offers 180 video lessons each week for schools and parents to use, across a broad range of subjects. The lessons cover children in Reception through to Year 10 and are free to use by both teachers and young people. The Oak National Academy can be accessed here
There are daily lessons — 3 for each year group. Look at the schedule; pick a year group and there will be a weekly timetable. Having had a quick look, there are some lovely lessons — this week the art lessons in some year groups are linked to the Learning Projects we sent to you for KS1 and 2, looking at using nature in art and the artist Andy Goldsworthy. What is good is that they have real teachers leading the learning / teaching the lessons via video screen. They will also support you as a parent to know how certain concepts are taught. For the younger children there are some story readings by teachers too.
PLEASE DON'T FEEL PRESSURED TO DO THESE DAILY OR TO DO ALL OF THEM — they are there as a support!
Daily Letters and Sounds Phonics lessons for Reception and Y1 have been launched by the government to support home schooling by parents.
